Adam Land Fine Arts
Thank you for stopping by. My name is Adam Land. I grew up in North Carolina, but I call Houston, TX home.
I recently got back into art after a 15+ year hiatus. After an encouraging speech from my girlfriend, I took the full plunge.
Having previously worked in 3-D (ceramics & sculpture), I decided to try my hand at painting. While I appreciate realism, I work intuitively and find more satisfaction in abstract works. I want to evoke an emotion, memory or feeling from the viewer.
Purchasing something handmade from an artist is more than buying a single piece of artwork. You are buying hours of practice, trial and error, innumerable "failures", moral victories, and exuberant satisfaction. You're taking home hours of deliberation, color selection, sizes, shapes, time spent creating, matting, wiring, framing, and photographing. Your support is a reminder that we are on the right track and proof that art speaks to us where mere words cannot connect.
You're taking home a small piece of the creator.
